Digital design transferred to Arches watercolor paper with carbon copy paper.
Paper stained with loose and bagged tea.
Line art done in Micron and Tombow waterproof pens.
First layer of color (alchohol marker and watercolor).
Burnt edges and next layer of color (watercolor).
Final layer of watercolor on the oceans.
Scroll Process
Sculpted flowers and leaves on scroll endcaps, made out of Epoxy Sculpt on top of wooden cubes.
Epoxy flowers painted with acrylic paint, wet blending and dry-brushing to give the look of a darker wood. Part of dowels painted to match.
Design transferred with carbon copy paper, inked with Micron and Tombow waterproof pens.
Colored using QoR watercolors (mixed from primary colors).
Details
Inspired by the novels by Sarah J. Maas.
The Teeth
One day I woke up and decided to make some fake teeth. And they had to be bloody and chunky, of course!
The sculpted teeth, made out of Sculpey clay, ready to be baked.
The teeth after they left the oven, baking complete.
Base teeth color (off-white), painted with acrylic paint.
Red wash of gouache paint for "watered-down blood" look.
First round of wax age, a deeper reddish brown.
The final layer of wax age. They are now complete!
The Details
(of course, the teeth deserved their own photoshoot)
"Modern Art"
"Modern Art" was a 10-minute play that SCAD put on. I helped to create the props and set dressing for this play (and the other 15 plays SCAD put on alongside this one). I helped build these frames, paint them, as well as sculpting and painting the statues that can be seen below. Created alongside Jason Dock Harrell.
The final product, on stage. Photo by SCAD.
Routing gets dusty.
